Maths in the coming weeks....
Next week we will be revising and building on our knowledge of written methods for multiplication and division. The following week we will be working on everyone's favourites: fractions and percentages! It will help you ENORMOUSLY if you know your times tables. If you don't know them then do all you can to learn them. You could try writing them, chanting them or singing them! Test yourself and have fun at the same time with these online games:

Topic Homework.
You can choose any of the following for your Topic homework:
·
Design the packaging for a Fairtrade chocolate
bar;
·
Create a 6 slide PowerPoint presentation about
Fairtrade; or
·
Make a 3D Fairtrade ‘bag for life’.
If you want to create the PowerPoint presentation, you could bring it in on a memory stick to view in the classroom.
How could you make a 3D 'bag for life'? You could use paper or card, decorate it with your Fairtrade design and then fold, stick, staple or glue it together to make a bag. I might give it a go myself! Have fun!

Literacy homework.
Take
a regular household item and using the features of persuasive writing, write a piece persuading somebody to buy it. Consider the audience and what would appeal to that demographic. Who might think about buying this product? How will you convince them? Remember to use some of the persuasive techniques we used in class: questions, imperatives, sentence openers, exaggeration.
What could you say about an ordinary bar of soap in order to persuade someone to buy it? Or some lemonade, a pencil or a hat? The choice of household item is up to you!
