Rocket launch- bottles needed!

As part of an exciting experiment for science week, Year 5 will be launching rockets on the field. We need 40 empty 2 litre plastic bottles in order to give as many people as possible the chance to launch a rocket. If you have any 2 litre bottles at home, we would really appreciate it if you could bring them in on/before Thursday. If any parents would like to assist on Thursday morning, please do let us know.

Thank you!

  1. Recount about the rocket launch

Today we were launching rockets on our field,it was incredible. We were going to make the rockets out of empty bottles but, unfortunately there wasnt enough time so, we had to use the rockets that the group before used. The man with us told us all the health and safety tips, and we were ready to launch them. After we walked to the field,we had to fill in the boxes on the clipboard;when a team finished they went to fill their rockets with water. Then, the man connected the rocket to the pumper and we had to pump it until it was between 8 and 9.Next we had to squeeze something, it looked like a brakes of a bicycle.finally, after 2 seconds it WHIZZED across the field like birds being pushed by the wind.Sadly, some didnt go very far unlike some that sored crazily in the sky.Everything went well, no one was hurt nothing went wrong and it was fun.[Except from the people who got slightly wet.
